- 2 green chillies
- 1 " ginger
- 1/4 tsp tumeric powder
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- 2 tsp sugar

- 1 tsp eno salt
- 1 tsp oil (moin)
- For tempering:
- 2 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp cummin seeds
- 1/2 tsp white sesame seeds (til)
- leaves Few curry
- 1-2 slit green chillies
- Finely chopped fresh coriander leaves to garnish
- Green corainder chutney to serve
Instructions to make to make Channa Dal Dhokla
- Wash and soak channa dal for 4 hours.
- Discard soaked water from channa dal. Add 2 green chillies ginger pieces in mixer jar. Add soaked channa dal, sugar, citric acid crystal, tumeric powder and salt. Grind it to make dhokla batter with 2 tbsp water.
- Transfer this grinded channa dal mixture in mixing bowl. Beat it with hand for few minutes to make fluffy mixture.
- Heat water in big vessel to steam dhokla or in dhokla steamer. Place stand in center. Place square tin or round thali grease with oil.
- Add 1 tsp oil and eno salt to channa dal batter. Mix gently in one direction. Pour this batter into warm thali place in steam vessel. Cover with lid. Steam channa dal dhokla for 25 minutes. Let steam escape before opening the lid.
- In small tadka pan add heat oil for tempering. Add mustard seeds cummin seeds and sesame seeds. As splutter add asafoetida, curry leaves,slit green chillies. Saute for 30 seconds. Off the flame. Pour this tadka on steamed channa dal dhokla.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh coriander leaves on it. Cut into desired pieces while it's still warm.Serve/ Relish delicious Channa Dal Dhokla with green coriander chutney.
