  2. 1 kg chicken
  3. 1/2 cup thick curd
  4. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  5. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  6. 1 tsp coriander powder
  7. 1 tsp salt
  8. 1 tsp ginger paste
  9. 1 tsp garlic paste
  10. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  11. 1 tsp roasted cumin powder
  12. 1 lemon juice
  13. For gravy
  14. 2 bay leaves
  15. 4-5 cloves,
  16. 8-9 peppercorn
  17. 1 inch cinnamon
  18. 1inch mace
  19. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  20. 1 black cardamom,
  21. 4 green cardamom
  22. 4 big onion cut into slices
  23. 1 tsp garlic paste
  24. 1 tsp ginger paste
  25. 2 tbsp coriander powder
  26. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  27. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  28. as taste Salt
  29. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  30. 1/2 cup oil
  31. 2 tbsp ghee
  32. 2 medium tomatoes
  33. 2-3 green chilli
  34. 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  35. 2 tbsp grated coconut
  36. 8-10 makhana
  37. 1 tsp kewra water
  38. As required Coriander leaves for garnishing

Steps to make to make Degi chicken korma

  1. Wash chicken very well.take a mixing bowl add chicken curd,ginger garlic paste and all the spices mention for marination.add lemon juice mix all together in very gently. Keep it in a refrigerator for two hours.
  2. Meanwhile take tomatoes ang green chilli in mixer jar and make a paste. Transfer in a bowl.now in the grinding jar take poppy seeds and Coconut add some water and make a smooth paste.keep aside. heat oil and ghee in a wok then add two onion slices and fry until they turn golden brown. transfer in a plate to cool it.then in a grinding jar add fried onion 2 green cardamom and 1 tsp mace,and makhana grind all coarsely.
  3. In the same oil add whole spices saute until the aroma comes then add remaining two onion slices fry until they turn light golden in colour.now add chicken pieces in it. Add ginger garlic paste stir it nicely. and cook for 4-5 minutes on high flame.
  4. Now add Poppy seeds and coconut paste and all the powder spices,.tomato chilli paste and salt.mix well.cook for 5-6 minutes on medium flame.add some water and cover it.cook on medium flame for ten minutes.aftwe that the oil released and chicken will be tender.stir occasionally.
  5. Remove the lid.add onion paste stir well and cook the chicken for 4-5 minutes on high flame. Now add 2 cups of water or as your desired consistency of korma.add garam masala powder and kewra water.cover in and bring it a boil.turn off the in flame.garnish with coriander leaves.seeve with naan,rõomali roti or kulcha
